Safety Familiarization, Basic Training and Instruction for All Seafarers

The course is designed: in accordance with the requirements of Regulation VI/ STCW Convention Section A-VI/1 (pp. 1, 2), Tables A-VI/1-1; A-VI/1-2; A-VI/1-3; A-VI/1-4 of the STCW Code, taking into account the recommendations of the IMO Model Courses.

Course objective:

acquisition by listeners of the necessary knowledge for personal survival, fire safety and firefighting, provision of first aid, adaptation in the ship environment, and overcoming unforeseen circumstances, which includes theoretical and practical training, mastering the educational material of each section of the training direction according to the minimum standards of competence.

Type of document: certificate.

Duration of study: full training course 68 hours (9 days) / shortened training course 37 hours (5 days).

Category of listeners:

all persons appointed to the vessel for the performance of official duties, as well as all commanding and rank-and-file personnel.

The program of this training direction consists of the following sections designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for all seafarers working on maritime vessels to ensure personal safety:

  • Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1);
  • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2);
  • Elementary First Aid (STCW A-VI/1-3);
  • Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (STCW A-VI/1-4).

List of documents required for registration:

– passport (if an ID card is available, an additional Extract of registration must be provided);

– TIN;

– seafarer’s identity document;

– international passport (if available);

– matte photo 3×4;

– medical certificate.
