Member of the command staff responsible for the security of the ship (Ship Security Officer)

The course is designed: in accordance with the requirements of regulation VI/5 of the STCW Convention-78, as amended; Sections A-VI/5, B-VI/5, Table A-VI/5 of the STCW Code, as amended IMO Model Course 3.19.

Course objective:

to train ship’s command personnel (Ship Security Officers – SSO) to address issues related to the security (protection) of the ship, implementation of the ship security plan, maintaining communication and interaction with the Company Security Officer and the Port Facility Security Officer, in accordance with section 2.1.6 of chapter 2 and chapter 12, part A of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), as well as sections A-VI/5, B-VI/5 of the STCW Code.

Type of document: certificate.

Duration of study: 16-hour training course (2 days).

Category of listeners:

are recruited from among the ship’s captains and officers who, by the company’s decision, must perform the duties of a “Ship Security Officer”.

List of documents required for registration:

– passport (if an ID passport is available, it is necessary to additionally provide an Extract of registration);

– TIN (Tax Identification Number);

– seafarer’s identity document;

– international passport (if available);

– matte photo 3×4;

– medical certificate.
