Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) operator with a general diploma “General GMDSS Operator”

The course is designed: in accordance with the requirements of Regulation IV/2 of the STCW Convention, Sections A-IV/2 and B-IV/2 (paragraphs 29-36) of the STCW Code.

Course objective:

The program is designed to prepare candidates for obtaining a restricted certificate of a radio operator of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) for ensuring safety.

Type of document: certificate.

Duration of study: full training course 108 hours (14 days) / shortened training course 54.5 hours (7 days).

List of documents required for registration:

– passport (if you have an ID passport, you must additionally provide an Extract of registration);

– TIN (Tax Identification Number);

– seafarer’s identity document;

– international passport (if available);

– matte photo 3×4;

– working diploma not lower than that of a navigator; or

studying at a higher education institution in the specialty “Navigation”; or

studying or working for a long time in the field of maritime communication;

– knowledge, understanding, and professionalism that meet the requirements listed in column 2 of table A-VI/2 of the STCW Code “Specification of minimum requirements for GMDSS radio operator competency” and in table S47-1 of the Radio Regulations regarding the requirements for candidates for obtaining a general GMDSS radio operator certificate.
